Underwoods pathology a clinical approach by Simon S Cross
Pathology is the scientific study of disease. Pathology comprises
a large body of scientific knowledge and diagnostic methods
that are essential, first, for understanding diseases and their
causes and, second, for their effective prevention and treatment.
Pathology embraces the functional and structural
changes in disease, from the molecular level to the effects
on the individual patient. Pathology is continually changing
and expanding as new research illuminates our knowledge
of disease.
